🧭 Itinerary Overview
Day 1 – Arrival in Auckland
Welcome to New Zealand! Arrive in Auckland and transfer to your hotel. In the evening, stroll along Viaduct Harbour or Britomart, buzzing with restaurants and waterfront charm.
Day 2 – Auckland → Waitomo Glowworm Caves → Rotorua
Journey through rolling farmland to Waitomo and marvel at the magical Glowworm Caves. Continue to Rotorua, where geothermal wonders and lakeside scenery await.
Day 3 – Rotorua → Wai-O-Tapu → Taupo → Napier
Explore Wai-O-Tapu’s bubbling pools, steaming vents, and colorful hot springs. Stop at the mighty Huka Falls before heading to Napier, New Zealand’s Art Deco gem by the sea.
Day 4 – Napier → Te Mata Peak → Wellington
Start the day with sweeping views from Te Mata Peak. Then travel south to Wellington, the nation’s capital, and take in panoramic harbor views from Mount Victoria Lookout.
Day 5 – Ferry Across Cook Strait → Kaikoura
Sail across the scenic Cook Strait to the South Island. Drive along the wild Pacific coastline to Kaikoura, home to playful fur seals basking on the rocks.
Day 6 – Kaikoura → Akaroa → Christchurch

Day 7 – TranzAlpine Train → Punakaiki → Franz Josef

Day 8 – Franz Josef Glacier → Lake Wanaka → Queenstown
Begin the day with a glacier valley walk, then travel via Haast Pass to Wanaka. Continue to Queenstown and relax by Lake Wakatipu at sunset.
Day 9 – Queenstown Adventures & Cruise to Walter Peak
Pick fresh fruit, ride the Skyline Gondola for breathtaking views, and try the luge. In the afternoon, cruise aboard the vintage TSS Earnslaw to Walter Peak Farm for a heritage experience.
Day 10 – Milford Sound Scenic Cruise
Travel through Fiordland’s dramatic landscapes to Milford Sound. Board a cruise to see towering peaks, cascading waterfalls, and pristine fjords before overnighting in Te Anau.
Day 11 – Te Anau → Invercargill + Aurora Viewing (Optional)
Spend a leisurely morning in Te Anau, then continue to Invercargill. After dark, venture out for an optional chance to see the Southern Lights at Oreti Beach or Bluff Hill.
Day 12 – Invercargill Leisure + Bluff Excursion + Aurora (Optional)
Explore Queen’s Park and visit Stirling Point in Bluff. In the evening, enjoy another opportunity to witness the Aurora Australis if conditions allow.
Day 13 – Mt Cook National Park → Lake Tekapo Stargazing
Drive via Lindis Pass to Mt Cook Village for a short glacier valley walk. End the day in Lake Tekapo, with the option to stargaze in one of the world’s clearest night skies.
Day 14 – Lake Tekapo → Christchurch → Auckland → Departure
Return to Christchurch for your domestic flight to Auckland, then connect to your international journey home. Farewell New Zealand with memories to treasure forever.
